Welcome to the Robins

 

A Robins Day is a mixture of structured play and early academic exposure.  The organized day for Our Three-Year-Olds includes Circle Time, with music and language, art, math and science, as well as free play, both inside and outside.  Our schedule also includes time for snacks, lunch and napping.

 

 

Circle begins at 9:00 a.m. each day!  We discuss the date, our theme, the weather and Welcome all of Our Children, as well as, sing songs and other related activities.  We also have designated share days.  We suggest your child bring items from home that coordinate with our theme.  C.D.’s, books, pictures and other small items seem to work best, omitting items of violence.  Remember, every child has a share day and it is very special to each one, that they participate.

Robins all bring lunches in a lunch box or paper bag.  Lunch is a very social time so don’t be surprised if your Robin doesn’t eat everything you send.  We have them eat their sandwiches, bagel, soup or main staple first.  Chips and fruit are next and goodies last.  Most sugary treats are saved for afternoon snack.

Naptime in the Robins follows lunch from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.  All of our children are encouraged to lie down and rest.  Parents provide a blanket and small crib sheet to fit over their mat.  These items stay at school and are laundered regularly for your child’s nap.

Afternoon activities include outside play, circle time, story time and free play, with a choice of puzzles, games, drama (dress-up), coloring, painting and more...

Robins go on Local Community Field Trips.  These Field Trips are nearby and usually the children walk.  They visit parks, stores and restaurants in the neighborhood, tying in their theme to help The Robins comprehension and understanding of the various subjects.  Parents are always welcome to join in and be an extra pair of hands.
